Board

On April 29th, 2017, by confidential ballot among the Council members, the positions are as follows:

 

President: Panagiotis Milopoulos (DC 2000)
holds a BSc degree in Business Administration. As a student he was working in the Admissions Office, he was President of the Management Society and Secretary of the Debating Club. In 2004 he was elected in the Board of the Alumni Association of the American College of Greece where in 2006 he was held Vice President. Whilst pursuing his employment career, he also undertook a distance learning program with the University of Strathclyde (Glasgow, Scotland), in order to further his knowledge and acquire advanced tools of application, resulting in an award of Master of Science, in Finance. From 2007 until 2011, he was President of the Hellenic Alumni Branch at the University of Strathclyde and he is currently working in the Custody Department of Piraeus Bank.

Vice President: Eleni Kourneta (PC 1996)
has studied Preschool Pedagogy at the University of Athens and holds an M.A in Applied Theatre of the University of London. She is currently working as a students’ mentor at the Faculty of Presschool Education of the National Kapodistrian University and as a drama facilitator in various educational and artistic projects.

General Secretary: Irene Lyberopoulou (DC 2004)
holds a BSc degree in Business Administration, Management field (New Ventures Creation). She speaks English, French, and Spanish. She is an expert in Graphic Design – Coorporate and Brand ID. She is working in the advertising industry since 1999. She owns ”greys.gr” a graphic design and media studio.

Treasurer: Bessy Kotsiri – Chrysostomou (PC 1953)
has also graduated from Junior College in 1954. She is an active member of the Association since 1978, serving most of the years as Treasurer or as member of the Auditing Committee. From 1954 to 1978 she worked as a senior employee at the British Embassy, from 1978 to 2005 she was the owner of the travel agency Seagull and from 2005 to 2015 she was a partner at Grecian Travel. Her daughter is also a PIERCE alumna.

Assistant Secretary: Anna Botou (PC 2010)
has studied Medicine at the University of Thessaly and has participated in the Erasmus+ programme as an exchange student in Milan, Italy. She has worked in NGOs such as HelMSIC (Hellenic Medical Students’ International Committee) and ESN Greece (Erasmus Student Network). She has done internships in University Hospitals in Italy, Switzerland and Brazil in various medical fields.

Ariadne Aldous (PC 2004)
has a Master of Laws (LLM) in International Business and Trade Law from Fordham University, New York and a Ptychio (LLB) from the Faculty of Law, National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. She is a qualified lawyer and since 2012 is working as Legal and Claims Manager / In house Lawyer at Kyklades Maritime Corporation in Athens. From September 2013 to September 2014 she taught as an Instructor of Business Legal Issues at DEREE. She is a member of Athens Bar Association, The International Propeller Club of the United States, International Port of Piraeus and Fordham University Alumni Association.

Iris Baloglou (DC 1983)
has studied Marketing and worked for 36 years in multinational companies and for Piraeus Bank . She is an associate certified coach
(ACC) accredited from the International Coaching Federation. Currently she is working as an Executive Coach and Marketing Consultant and also organizes seminars for soft skills. She also volunteer, by offering coaching and mentoring to NGO’s as well as at Educational Institutions :ALBA, Economic University of Athens, International University of Salonica and Junior Achievement –Pierce. She has been awarded with Honorable Distinction of effective use of coaching in HR Awards. Member of International Coaching Federation , Hellenic Coaching Association and National Counsel of Women Greece

George Dikaios (PC 2010)
has studied in the Dept. of Political Science and Public Administration at the National and Kapodistrian Univeristy Athens and holds an MA in International and European Relations from the same university. He is currently working as a Junior Research Fellow in the Institute of European Integration and Policy (National and Kapodistrian University of Athens). He also participates as an external collaborator at a journal published by the University of Aegean. He is also in the organizing committee of the newly established NGO πάμεΜμαζί (pameMmazi).

Paul Drivas (PC 2011)
I have studied Economics at the University of Piraeus and as soon as i turned 18 , i started working in parallel as an insurance agent. During my student life, i have been actively involved in various extra curricular activities such as the football team. To reward my collegial and co-operative spirit, i have been the recipient of the Flora Chaniotis award by Pierce College.

Ioanna Theodorou (DC 1992)
holds an MBA from Leicester University, UK and a BSc. from DEREE in Marketing Management. She is an experienced executive currently working in AGFA Healthcare as a Customer Operations & Quality Manager with a diversified professional background in sales, advertising, project management, operations and quality auditing in Greece and Europe. She has been a representative of the company’s labour union in the European Work Council and she is also a member of EEDE (TOGME) Sector of Women Managers and Entrepreneurs.

Apostolos Panayiotopoulos (DC 1998)
holds a B.A. in Economics and M.Sc. in Banking & Finance from the University of Birmingham and studies Mass Media at the National and Kapodestrian University of Athens; he presently works as a Systems Analyst at the National Bank of Greece; furthermore, he strongly supports the cause of granting equal to the Greek University professional and academic rights for DEREE degree. Moreover, he owns and operates Villa Cerigo, a traditional self-catered villa in Kithira and has been one of the founding members of DEREE’s most long lasting alumni athletic team (“Blue Dogs FC” – soccer).

George Tsopanakis (DC 2012)
has studied Communications with an International Relations minor, served the Ambassadors and the Student Government. He has attended the postgraduate program in European Governance at Neapolis University Pafos. An ambitious executive of the cloud computing delivery market, George works at Interworks Cloud.
